While still attending college Brenda started her drafting career during her internship with a local architectural firm. Upon graduation she became a fulltime cad draftsperson for the same firm. While drafting Brenda became responsible for small projects in the field, overseeing all aspects of production under the Lead Architect.
During a tenure as Adjunct Faculty for Stevens College she taught AutoCAD from 1992-1997. Brenda remains active at Stevens College serving various committees and mentoring programs; she is past President of the Stevens Foundation Board having served for 13 years in an elected position and was the first woman to do so.
1997 – 1998
As Brenda gained experience the need to expand responsibilities grew. In 1998 she made a transition to the business side of the profession and became the firm’s Office Manager taking the responsibility of keeping an office of more than 30 employees operating efficiently

Providence Engineering Corporation - 2004 to Present
Writing and reviewing contracts, specifications, change orders and all aspects of the administration involved in putting a project together became her responsibility. Working with Architects to bring projects in on budget was a large part of her focus.
As the volume of business expanded
Brenda worked directly with the Owner and the Accountant on P/L reviews and Balance Statements overseeing the firm’s income. Payroll, corporate taxes, state registrations, licensures, insurances, property management all came under her charge as Business Manager.
Providence Engineering Corporation now has the benefit of utilizing Brenda’s 15 plus years of experience in the A/E profession. |
