Mr. Bernhardt’s structural engineering experience spans a wide variety of structures, including corporate office campuses, schools, churches, hospitals, assisted living facilities, mission-critical internet facilities and theatres. Structural framing systems for these facilities have utilized structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, light gauge metal and wood. He has designed various foundation systems including shallow spread footings, caissons, auger cast piles and geo-piers. Beyond traditional building design, he has been involved in feasibility studies, construction cost comparisons, forensic investigations, rehabilitation, renovation, structural due-diligence reports and load capacity evaluation.
David’s project experience has included projects in locations throughout the United States including the West Coast and South Florida. In addition to engineering design, David has also been a guest lecturer for the AIA as well as speaking to secondary and college aged students about structural engineering. |
