Mr. Bernhardt’s structural engineering experience spans a wide variety of structures, including corporate office campuses, schools, churches, hospitals, assisted living facilities, mission critical internet facilities and theatres.  Structural framing systems for these facilities have utilized structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete plank, masonry, light gauge metal and wood.  He has designed various foundation systems including shallow spread footings, caissons, auger cast piles, and geo-piers.  Beyond traditional building design, he has been involved in feasibility studies, construction cost comparisons, rehabilitation, renovation and loading capacity evaluationDavid’s project experience has included projects in locations throughout the United States ranging from the West Coast to South Florida to the Northeast.
