Mr. Smith developed his structural engineering skills through design and analysis of buildings for a variety of commercial, educational, industrial, medical, religious and residential facilities. His experience includes structural systems utilizing structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, light gauge metal, masonry and wood. Additionally, he has designed many types of foundation systems from shallow spread footings to drilled shaft piers and grade beams. He has also worked as the Specialty Engineer designing structural steel connections, stair framing and railing systems for submittal to the design professional of record.
In addition to his design experience, Keith has an extensive background in the area of forensic investigations. Having worked for nationally recognized forensic firms, he has performed numerous failure and damage investigations relating to structural distress of buildings including determining the causes and extents of structural damages related to hurricanes, tornados, hailstorms and fires. |
