Providence Engineering Corporation (PEC) is proud to volunteer their time with the ACE Mentor program in York and Lancaster counties. ACE is an acronym for architecture, construction and engineering.
"The program's mission is to enlighten and increase the awareness of high school students to career opportunities in architecture, construction and engineering and related areas of the design and construction industry through mentoring; and to provide scholarship opportunities for students in an inclusive manner reflective of the diverse school population."
The students involved get exposed to the A/E/C industry by visiting offices, interacting with professionals and completing projects. Recently, the York County chapter of ACE used some structural engineering principles to build structures made of spaghetti noodles. The students tried to create both the tallest self supporting structure and a structure that would support 20 oz soda cans.
PEC is proud to participate in a program that mentors tomorrows leaders in the architecture, construction and engineering industries.
