This year, Lancaster Christian School (LCS) and Providence Engineering Corporation (PEC) are partnering together on a project called “Canstruction.” “Canstruction” is a creative fundraiser that provides food for local food banks. The PEC/LCS team is responsible for designing and building a structure made entirely of canned food. The structures will be on display at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg from February 28th – March 8th, during the PA Home Show exhibit. Our structure will be one of 11 judged and the local winners will go on to compete internationally.
Besides the opportunity for PEC and LCS to partner in a mentorship capacity, we are really looking forward to the opportunity to give back to the community. The local “Canstruction” competition collaborates with Project SHARE to distribute the canned food from our structure to local food banks. Since our team’s origins are in Lancaster, project SHARE will coordinate with food banks in the Lancaster area to receive our canned food.
