Farewell to Our Incredible Summer Intern!

As the summer draws to a close, it’s time to say farewell to Tyler Jantzen, our Summer 2019 Engineering Intern.

Since joining us in May, Tyler reviewed drawings, took field measurements and was exposed to a handful of unique challenges, including the strict design required of a motor-operated, ballistic-rated steel security gate for an electrical substation.

During his internship, Tyler visited several job sites to get a hands-on view of the structural world. He visited the FABCON plant where he witnessed precast concrete panels being fabricated for an upcoming warehouse project. Another memorable site visit was to the Valley Protein food-processing plant: “It’s a really interesting project, but a strong smelling one” says Tyler.

With the help of one of the Providence Senior Project Managers, Tyler was able to build on his experiences this summer and identify a compelling topic for his upcoming thesis. He plans to focus on a unique steel and precast concrete office building currently under construction in Conshohocken, PA.

On August 26th Tyler returns to Penn State University for his senior year. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree. We wish him the best of luck and hope to see him around Providence again in the future!
