The new dormitory is approximately 32,000 SF and 3-stories in height, and houses resident rooms, bath facilities, lounge areas, utilitarian spaces, and apartments. A covered porch at the main entrance leads to a 2-story open lobby with curved staircases. The building is framed with structural steel bearing on a combination of metal stud and masonry walls. The roof system consists of pre-engineered fire retardant treated wood trusses. Lateral stability is provided by a combination of masonry and concrete shear walls.
