The Belle Vernon Bridge

The Belle Vernon Bridge, also called the Speers Bridge, carries Interstate 70 across the Monongahela River from Speers east to Rostraver Township in the state of Pennsylvania.

Belle Vernon

The Belle Vernon Bridge abrasive blasting and painting project has been a 2-year construction endeavor. Joining with Safespan, the multi-level work platforms consist of both cables with deck (Safespan), and cables with fence (Providence). The cable with deck platforms are the bottom-most work surfaces for both above and below the bridge surface. Due to the height of the bridge structure, multiple layers of cable with fence platforms were designed for better access to the structural steel well out of reach of the decking surfaces. Shown in the picture is a cable with fence platform with view of the deck platform below.
